One of the great holidays is approaching - the Nativity of Christ, which means it's time to start preparing for it. The holiday is decorated with a beautiful custom of singing Christmas carols. So I decided to quietly start with these carols to introduce you.
Look forward to the notes of Good Toby Evening Carols and a whole collection of festive videos. This is the same song in which the festive refrain from the words "Rejoice ...".
In the attached file you will find two versions of the musical notation - both monophonic and absolutely identical, but the first one is recorded in such a tonality that it is convenient to sing in a high voice, and the second one is intended for performance by those who have a low voice.
Actually, which option you choose - it matters only if you play yourself on the piano during learning. By the way, it is not necessary to learn a carol by notes, if you do not know them. Just listen to the recordings that I’ve picked up for you, and learn by ear. The lyrics of the song can be found in the same file as the notes of the carol.

What is this song about? Immediately about the three holidays that "came to visit": Christmas, the memory of St. Basil the Great (which falls on the Christmas Eve) and the Baptism of the Lord. The first chants are dedicated to addressing the master of the house to which the singing came. After the story of the three holidays, they wish him all the best, peace and kindness. Listen to yourself:
Optionally, the number of verses of the song can be increased - to come up with various wishes or jokes. For example, children, performing this carol, often end it with the following singing: "And for this carols, give us a chocolate bar!". After that, the owners of the house give them gifts. Sometimes they end up with a carol like this: “And on a kind word - be healthy!”, As, for example, in this video.
Of course, you need to sing such a carol along with all your friends. The more singing - the more joy!
I’ll also say a little bit about how to perform “Good Evening Toby” is necessary, albeit fun, but slowly. It must be remembered that this song is solemn, festive and is often sung during the procession - you will not accelerate at a pace, well, and the listeners should have time to be filled with joy!
